Construction
Preimpregnated outer skin is carbon fiber and inner skin is Kevlar reinforced sandwich material with nomex honeycombs. Carbon fiber frames and ribs on all boats. All crew boats with or without wings have ribs. Highest quality epoxy resins are the same as used in the aerospace industry. Vacuum bag technique is used to guarantee total bonding between outer layers and sandwich core.

Though vastly more expensive than carbon-fibre honeycomb material, the combination of Aramidfiber (Kevlar), Nomex and Epoxy Resin results in a tear and impact resistance of the outer and inner skins that cannot be matched with other materials for the same weight.

Durability and race life are extended as much as three times over boats made from conventional carbon materials. There are Empacher Shells over 15 years old, still wining International Races.

Since all boats that leave the factory are built exactly the same as boats sent to any National Team, all boats are constructed to be exactly FISA weight and boats that are under weight will come with removable weights.
